Hurricanes Soccer Academy

About Hurricanes Soccer Academy
In 2009, the Hurricanes Soccer Academy was started to provide kids with a passion for soccer a place to play year round if they so desire.  We run sessions for Winter and Summer while AYSO runs during Fall and Spring.  Our target age is from 4 years of age up to 10 years of age as these are important years in the skill development of a youth soccer player.  We hope to make the soccer ball a favorite toy amongst our players so that they play soccer for life.

Registration is open to all ability levels.  We do hold evaluations for all players who register with us in order to place them in groupings.  We want each player to find challenge while being successful in soccer as well.  Our groupings allow us to tailor the training for each group based on the age ranges and ability levels within each group.  Common throughout each group though is a focus on making soccer fun and individual skill development.

On game day, all games are small sided to mirror Brazilian style soccer with fast movements and skilled players who are encouraged and empowered to control the ball. With small sided games every player is important to their teams success and has no choice but to be involved in the game.  Small sided games are important for beginner as well as advanced players.

All Academy Coaches are experienced in coaching youth soccer.  No volunteer coaching is required.  The Hurricanes Soccer Academy is coached by Jacob and Shanna Blanchard. Shanna played professionally and Jacob in college, and both hold National level coaching licenses through USSF and NSCAA. They have coached over 15 years in nationally recognized youth clubs including Arsenal FC and the Honolulu Bulls. Now being Claremont residents with children in soccer, they are bringing their talents and passion for soccer to the Claremont community and surrounding areas.
